Call for Nominations!
Help SPIES select the Top 10 First Date Spots in Scottsdale and Phoenix to get cozy and converse with someone you might want to see again!
- The Mission, in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale at 3815 N. Brown Ave is nominated for SPIES Top 10 First Date Places.
Every night of the week, the Valley’s most eligible single men and women – who we’re excitedly awaiting date feedback from – are getting to know each other better. They may be on their first date or their 100th. We usually don’t get a lot of feedback after date five and until they have a big announcement or it’s time to find them someone new. But that’s off topic.
If you’re married, I hope you still have date night. One of SPIES longest married couples (14 years) still act like newlyweds and have dates with each other. They were going paddle boating the last time I called them (in August).
We’d like to provide a resource for single men and women and couples on our Facebook page so you have a place to turn for knowledgeable recommendations on places to take a date. Our clientele is busy and the places to go tend to change in the Valley. Roy’s in Scottsdale used to have an hour wait. Now you have to trek to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge to find them. But it is a great spot to sit on the patio, enjoy their lobster potstickers and listen to live music from the hotel…in nice weather.
What are your recommendations? We want YOU to weigh in with where you have had good luck getting to know someone special or ruling out the wrong one and wishing you were there with the right one. If you’ve spotted a gem or have
- a favorite restaurant
- hotel bar – perhaps Jade at Sanctuary Resort
- a tapas place
- a place with great ambiance or a view – Have you discovered the Rokerij cellar bar?
- an intimate music venue – bye bye Chez Nous, we miss you
- a resort – Camelback Inn rocks post mega-dollar remodel
- a dive to put her to the test and see if she can handle something that isn’t five star – Mickey’s Hangover closed – no more sweet potato fries and Cinnabon icing, but the Coach House is strewn with thousands of Christmas lights and has friendly staff and patrons
PLEASE, share your finds and favorites on our Facebook page and/or comment on this post. Don’t let us just tell you what we like. Help us learn about places we might not know about. If you have a great photo of a venue, send it!
We’ll announce when the Top 10 Lists for both Phoenix and Scottsdale are out. If you’ve commented here or on our Facebook page, you’ll know fastest. And when we add a subscription option to this website, then we’ll really be on the ball and you can hear about our news first.
Until then, check in regularly and see who others are nominating and maybe find ideas on where to take your next date.
