Surprise Fire Dept brought 7 year old Nicklas home for a Big Reveal of his dream bedroom! Roseann Higgins, President and professional matchmaker with SPIES (Single Professional Introductions for the Especially Selective) was one of half a dozen small businesses who sponsored and spent the day working on a dream bedroom for Nicklas and his brother, a second dream bedroom for his two sisters and a new playroom with alongside fellow BNI Biltmore Power (a networking chapter that meets weekly in Phoenix) members.

To volunteer, some events have everything to do with giving back and you can be single or married to participate. SPIES also hosts and participates in some events that are geared to providing single men and women an opportunity to give back and meet each other.

On December 17, 2011, you were invited to cheer on 7 year old Nicklas as Surprise Fire Department brought his family home for a Big Reveal! Nicklas has a life threatening illness: osteosarcoma. You’d only know that from his wheelchair & bald head from 3 types of chemo, because he is a lively little boy whose eyes light up with love and maybe a little mischief, where you wonder what is he going to do next? You will melt when he smiles at you.

Nicklas was diagnosed in September 2011. Phoenix Children’s Hospital informed Maren Ettesvold and Maureen Geraghty his family might be perfect to receive a dream bedroom from Special Spaces!

Nicklas Carter is 7. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September. He and his family are going home today to see the first Special Spaces of Phoenix dream bedroom - his!

Volunteers and businesses from a business networking group that meets Wednesdays at L’Amore in Phoenix BNI’s BiltMORE Power Group banded together to create a dream bedroom and a home that is a safe place for 7 year old Nicklas. Nicklas got to see his new room at 6 pm, when Surprise Fire Department brought Nicklas and his family up the road past friends, family, volunteers and neighbors in a fire truck for the big reveal, which aired on ABC TV 15, Phoenix.
