Everything about SPIES President & founder, Roseann Higgins’ background speaks to why she’s a leading matchmaker. Until you hire us and see your first lineup of possibilities, nothing we could say will communicate as clearly as that first lineup why Roseann knows how to nail exactly what her clients are looking for.

Since opening the doors to SPIES and taking on her first ER physician client in 1994, she’s attended thousands of events, vigilantly headhunting for the right men and women to introduce to her clientele.

Higgins is focused. She aims and she hits her target. She was an Expert Pistol and Rifle marksman in the Navy during her 17 years (10 active duty and nearly 7 active Reserve). As a Navy Career Counselor, she worked one-on-one with sailors reach their goals. She was selected “Sailor of the Year” and received high profile assignments, coordinating events for the Inauguration of President George H.W. Bush and security support on the Secretary of Defense staff for the Goodwill Games. She rose in the enlisted ranks to Chief Petty Officer before obtaining a Direct Commission and reaching the rank of Lieutenant.

In Washington, DC, when Mills College in Oakland, California sent her on a semester abroad to participate in the highly competitive American University – Washington Semester Program, she nailed the first internship on Capitol Hill with the US House Armed Services Committee. She credits her research thesis exploring the strategies and politics behind former Secretary of the Navy, John F. Lehman, Jr.’s plan to expand the 600-ship Navy into 13 ports, to helping her thrive as an entrepreneur with a niche dating service – an industry that society had placed a higher stigma upon when she started her company in the mid-90’s. She completed her BA in Political Science at George Washington University.

After coast to coast US Navy assignments and a tour in Rota, Spain, where she honed her skills making new friends every couple months to every few years, she returned to Phoenix, Arizona and opened SPIES in 1994. After four months of research, she learned most people she wanted to work with would not join a dating service and had the “Ah-hah” moment. Why not combine matchmaking and headhunting?

SPIES was selected a Semifinalist in the Inc. Marketing Masters Awards for its trailblazing marketing strategies.

Higgins held a Top Secret Security Clearance in the Navy. Private and high profile men and women have been sitting down with Roseann Higgins and sharing their most intimate details and finding their soulmates for going on two decades.
